We're seeking a Project Deployment Team Leader to help them improve our electricity monitoring solutions for Transmission and Distribution utilities. Primary responsibilities
The US Project deployment team leader is a member of the Solution Deployment Team.
The Solution Deployment Team (SDT) is in charge to deliver the projects to the customers and is composed of a team located in Liège (Belgium) and a team located in Atlanta. The US Project Deployment team leader manages the team located in Atlanta and reports to the SDT Manager located in Liège.
This function involves two distinct roles: a team management role (70%) and an engineering role (30%).
As a team leader, you’ll be:
- In charge to organize and to coordinate all actions of the US project team (3 junior project managers) required to deliver projects to the customers, including from pre-sales to customers support, such as training, project qualification, project delivery and after sales support.
- In charge to participate in defining work procedures and good practices in coordination with the headquarter (Liège-Belgium), provides training to his team and ensures the proper application of these procedures.
- In charge to propose ideas/actions for the improvement of the SDT activities and lead some related improvement actions, especially with project deliverables for customers.
- In charge to report weekly the status of the projects to the SDT Manager, and to highlight the identified risks and to propose mitigation actions to avoid customer claims.
- Responsible for the evaluation of the members of the US team: define the annual personal objectives in line with the objectives of the project department, define the personal development plans and ensure the implementation of established actions.
- The mentor/coach of the project managers, who can provide guidance and advice to the team members to make them grow and to empower them.
As an engineer, you’ll be:
- In charge of Project Deployment from the receipt of the customer order validate the technical scope, establish the schedule, communicate with the customer and coordinates the project activities with other departments (sales, R&D, production, administrative team) until the project is closed.
- Act as the technical expert during the customers project execution, perform project tasks mainly including line study/analysis, commissioning of sensors and of lines, support the deployment of software and the integration of their solution into customer EMS/SCADA.
- Travel to project sites to perform start-up, integration, and training services.
- Act as the technical expert for the customers line monitoring and ensure the reliability of the solutions during their lifetime.
- Maintain expert level of our client product knowledge, its application in power transmission & distribution systems.
- The primary technical resource for the sales force for dynamic line rating application to power transmission and distribution systems.
- Participate to the preparation of power transmission customer-specific proposals in response to RFI/RFP, and work through the sales cycles, interfacing with the customers during the technical evaluation process.
- Generally, provide technical support and expertise to customers, responding to customer requests and often performing sales presentations and demonstrations.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers.
- Liaise with the company HQ senior technical teams, to ensure smooth project deployments and remain current on latest product releases and features.
- Perform the product training for customers, salespeople, and engineers.
Required qualifications & skills
Must have
- Bs. or Ms. in Electrical/Electronic or Mechanic or Software/Computer Engineering, or equivalent successful experience in a similar controls industry role.
- Proven experience (2-3 years) in customer interfacing roles in a technical environment.
- Project management skills.
- Able to juggle highly operational tasks, customers meetings, and multiple project management, able to work on several projects with different timelines at the same time.
- Affinity for Software products (previous experience is an asset).
- Fluent English (working language)
- Ability to work in an international team and open to travel few times a year.

Nice to have
- Ideally experience in engineering related to power transmission or distribution systems and in industry protocols to integrate data into EMS/SCADA.
- Knowledge and/or proven experience in communication technology and its applications in power system.
- Project Management Certification.
- Knowledge and/or proven experience with business analytics tools.
- Other language is a plus.
